Texas Monthly Hill Country Show Home
BOOT RANCH TO HOST 2017 TEXAS MONTHLY HILL COUNTRY SHOW HOME
Set on a 1.75-acre high-elevation homesite in the center of the 2,050-acre Boot Ranch private club community, the Show Home takes advantage of distant Hill Country views that can be enjoyed from almost every room. Because Fredericksburg is the largest per capita tourist destination in Texas, the Show Home features large entertaining spaces as well as very private guest accommodations for visiting friends and family members.
Inspired by the original architecture of the Fredericksburg area, Chad Faucheux of the architectural firm Design Visions combined historic massing and materials with an open interior to create elegant scale in the Show Home. Interior designer Amy Slaughter selected finishes and furnishings that complement the architecture with a cool palette and rich textures. Custom home builder Matthew Mabery provided the best of Hill Country craftsmanship. Major sponsors Daltile and The Container Store contributed the home’s exceptional tiles, countertops, storage solutions and closet systems. Several works of art in the home have been purchased from sponsor Insight Gallery for the Boot Ranch permanent collection, and additional art and sculpture is
on loan from the gallery.
The 2017 Texas Monthly Show Home, which sold for more than $1.6 million, will be open for tours two weekends only on May 13-14 and May 20-21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both Saturdays and Sundays. (Please note that the Show Home is not handicapped accessible, nor will strollers be allowed.) Meet the team of experts behind this magnificent home and see the latest in design, decor and architecture. Come get inspired!

DEVELOPERS | Terra Verde Group | Craig Martin & Mark Enderle
Boot Ranch is a showplace for spectacular custom homes, some as large as 15,000 square feet, on lots ranging up to 18 acres. While demand for these estate properties remains strong, we’ve worked with more buyers in recent years who want homes under 5,000 square feet on just a couple acres of land and a price tag under $3 million. Whether they’re looking for a vacation home or a full-time residence, one thing is consistent—the desire for a no-hassle homebuilding process that creates a luxurious one-of-a-kind home without the typical headaches of designing and building a custom home from scratch. ARCHITECT | Design Visions
Chad Faucheux
Chad Faucheux, a founder and partner of the firm Design Visions, typically designs homes for the people who will live in them. In the case of the 2017 Texas Monthly Hill Country Show Home at Boot Ranch, his client was the developer and the goal was to create the first in a series of plans that satisfied unmet buyer demand for size (3,200-5,000 square feet), livability (great gathering spaces and private guest accommodations), and an abbreviated design/build timeframe. INTERIOR DESIGNER | Slaughter Design Studio
Amy Slaughter
Interior Designer Amy Slaughter says that while growing up she often visited homes with her mother who sold real estate and she thought: “I could do better,” turns out she was right.
Since founding Slaughter Design Studio in Fredericksburg 12 years ago, Amy has earned a big reputation at Boot Ranch, having designed the first three Sunday House interiors and many homes for Boot Ranch members thereafter. Read More

BUILDER | Mabery Contracting
Matthew Mabery
Matthew Mabery is a get-it-done kind of guy. He believes in getting the job done right by having his own employees do much of the work, owning his own equipment, and purchasing materials directly from suppliers instead of subcontractors. This allows his company to construct luxury homes on a more economical scale than other custom home builders, without sacrificing any of the quality and features his clients expect. Read More
