“Delicious” and “dynamic” are two words that epitomize the Boot Ranch culinary experience. Boot Ranch Executive Chef, Casey McQueen shares a behind-the-scenes peek into how exceptional leadership, meticulous personalization, and constant innovation elevate the cuisine at the finest private club community in Texas.
For the past seven years, the Boot Ranch culinary experience has been curated by Executive Chef Casey McQueen.
Chef Casey studied at a culinary school in England before beginning his career in Washington D.C. There, he was an apprentice of James Beard Award-winning chef Ann Cashion. Reflecting on the apprenticeship, Chef Casey says “It was a great experience for me. I thought I knew how to cook until I went there."
The Boot Ranch culinary team takes pride in designing seasonal menus that offer dishes that appeal to a variety of tastes and appetites. Chef Casey says it’s not uncommon for a party at the same table to order meals ranging from filet mignon, halibut, and quail, to nachos and a burger – and each item receives the same level of attention and care.
To ensure that members who dine at the club every day always have new options to try, the menu features a daily special. Plus, Chef Casey personally recommends trying Lana’s Soup of the Day – created by Executive Sous Chef, Lana Black.
The culinary team’s goal is to “never have to say no” and they are happy to go off-menu to accommodate members’ dietary requirements and taste preferences. Members are relieved to know that Chef Casey’s signature Cowboy Quail, is never truly “off menu”.
The team takes pride in anticipating individual members’ needs. They review the reservation list every day and note any members who have a regular order, and make sure to have the needed ingredients stocked in the walk-in. And Efrain is famous for knowing when members will have “the regular” at the bar.
Members and guests with food allergies can dine with confidence due to the team’s dedication to safety protocols that prevent cross-contamination. The kitchen includes a dedicated gluten-free fryer for extra member safety.

Whether on or off the menu, tailoring meals to individual tastes and needs is built into the Boot Ranch dining DNA, making every meal a special and personalized experience.
